Goodwood eligible 1954 Morgan +4 FIA race car.

£95,000

1954 Morgan +4 THY 60 “Tiny” – FIA Race / Rally Car

A rare opportunity to acquire one of only a handful of pre-1956 Morgan FIA race cars, eligible and highly competitive in Plateau 2 at Le Mans Classic and Goodwood’s Tony Gaze Trophy. “Tiny” has an impressive recent race history, including 8th Overall at the 2023 Goodwood Members’ Meeting, routinely beating far more exotic machinery at a fraction of the cost.

Originally acquired by Richard from Kelvin and Vanessa Lee in 2001 in highly developed hill-climb specification, the car was returned to its correct 1954 configuration for competition. This included drum brakes and a 2.0-litre TR2 engine on SU carburettors, completed in time for the gruelling 2002 Rally of the Tests, where Richard secured a hard-fought class win (up to 2800cc).

Since 2012, “Tiny” has competed four times at Le Mans Classic, with a standout achievement of winning an Index of Performance race outright in 2014. Further successes include numerous class victories and Class 4 victory in the 2023 Fiscar Series.

The car benefits from a well-known and fully documented history from new — from rallying on trade plates with first owner Tiny Lewis in December 1954, through to outright Morgan Challenge race wins with former owner Chas Windridge, and continuing to today’s modern historic racing successes.

Presented race-ready for 2024, the car features a fresh steel Mass engine with less than 7 hours’ running time, and valid FIA HTPs through to 2032.

RTCC runs more than 30 race and rally cars and would be delighted to continue preparation, storage, and provide full arrive-and-drive support for the new owner.
